And just like that, it’s officially the last harvest of the 2019 season. Thank you everyone for supporting Tumbleweed Farm this year and for cooking, eating (and if you had to compost a lot that’s fine too!!) all of our veggies this season. It’s been an honor to be your farmers and we are so damn grateful to each and everyone of you for putting your money, time and trust into us to grow your food. We hope you enjoyed the season and we hope you all get to have a restful and healthy winter.

Cheers to a great season!

  2. Turnips

  3. Radishes

  4. Garlic

  5. Blue Hubbard Squash Or Fairy Squash (both can be used interchangeably) but if you received the giant blue hubbard squash the best way to open it is to drop it on the floor (seriously!) and it will break into uniform pieces that are easy to work with. Or you can roast it whole!

2019 Harvest 23

Howdy folks and welcome to week 23! Only one more week left to go!! Dang, this season flew by. We hope you all have enjoyed your veggies and this week it’s a tasty fall basket! With more kale (hope you’re not sick of it!!) spinach, radishes, carrots, potatoes, winter squash and watermelon radishes (my favorite) it’s a fun box to cook your way through.

It’s supposed to get sunny later this week up at the farm so we’re excited to bask in a little vitamin D as we do a lot of cleanup work. Most of the fields are dead now (we’re only harvesting from the upper field at this point, so it’s go-time to get things prepped and cleaned for next season. The 2020 garlic will be going into the ground the last week of October (weather permitting) and will hang out there all winter longer. Once the garlic is in, we can relax a bit! Yeeehawww!!!

Enjoy this week’s bounty everyone!

Howdy folks and welcome to week 22! It’s hard to believe we’ve only got a few weeks left of the 2019 season with you all. We hope you’ve been stoked with the veggies this season. As things slow down in the fields and frost covers most of the crops the variety is skimming down a bit. This week we’re back to root veggies, hearty greens, spuds, and winter squash. We hope you enjoy cooking your way through this week’s box!

Happy eating everyone!
