2020 Harvest 7

Howdy folks and welcome to week 7! We hope you all enjoyed last week’s haul and are making room for more green things in your fridge! This week we’re excited for the seasonal debut of cabbage along with black radishes. Black radishes are really tasty (stronger than traditional radishes) and are a fun thing to slice thinly and serve with a pat of cold butter and sea salt, or dipped in hummus or pesto. They taste great when served on sandwiches, pizza or shaved thinly and added to salads. The skins are tough so make sure you slice the radishes pretty thin before eating.

I think next week we’re shaping up to have the first round of summer squash and zucchini heading your way (weather dependent) and the onions and garlic are not far behind. Cucumbers, tomatoes , peppers and eggplants are all looking really healthy and will slowly start to make their way into shares soon! Lot’s to look forward too! In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this week’s haul! Happy cooking everyone!

A & T and Baby P

Howdy folks and welcome to week 6!! I feel like I say this every week but DAMN, we’re already 6 weeks in?!? It seems impossible to be this far along but here we are! This week we’re excited for the return of beets. The variety this week is Chioggia which is really beautiful when you slice open. They’re candy cane striped and pretty darn stunning! We’ve got broccoli again this week along with another head of curly Endive. It’s been awesome hearing from so many of you who made that endive salad we posted a few weeks ago. I’m glad you all liked it as much as we do! I’ll post the recipe again down below for anyone who hasn’t made it yet. It’s a winner! Anyhow, this week at the farm we’ve been busy harvesting for markets and restaurants along with keeping up with our planting and seeding schedule. We’re already seeding for fall/winter and it feels crazy. In the next few weeks we’ll harvest all of the garlic which is always a big task, but we’re lucky enough to have a few extra field crew workers to help get it done.

Anyhow, we hope you all enjoy the veggies this week. Stay healthy and safe everyone!

A & T & Baby P

Howdy folks and welcome to week 5. We’re still swimming in greens and hope you aren’t tired of salads yet! Don’t worry the summer crops are cranking and things in the fields are looking better then ever. Taylor’s hilling the potatoes as I write this (they look SO good this season) zucchini and summer squash are starting to flower, eggplants are growing, tomatoes and peppers and looking great and the corn is starting to really take off! Of course many of those things are still a ways out but there is so much to look forward too! In the meantimes, it’s all about those greens! This week everyone who did not receive strawberries last week will get them, and if you don’t receive peas this week you’ll get them next week.

Alright everyone, we hope you all are healthy and loving this summer weather! Take care and enjoy the bounty.
