2018 Harvest 9

2018 Harvest 9.jpg

Hot damn!! It's getting toasty out here folks. We hope you all have been able to stay cool and relatively comfortable in the heat. As for things up here, it's been hard keeping up with irrigation but thankfully things are still managing to get wet and most of the crops are looking good despite triple digits.

This week we're happy to have carrots back in the mix along with some really delicious Walla Walla Sweet onions. The onions haven't been cured so keep them in the fridge and use them within the next couple of weeks. Basil should be popping up in your shares next week which is always exciting (at least for us--we love cucumbers!) The tomatoes are looking good and we've managed to eat a few ripe cherry tomatoes but they're still a ways out before we've got enough for CSA. However, we assure you they're coming along!

On a separate note, we want folks to mark your calendars for our 6th annual "Rock the Harvest" party on Saturday August 25th starting at 4:30pm. The Greenneck Daredevils will be playing again and we'll have plenty beer on tap along with canned wine from our buddies over at Union Wine Co. We encourage folks to bring along your own picnic dinner and even make a night out of it and camp nearby or stay at one of the many rad hotels in the area. It's one of our favorite summer traditions to have you all out to the farm and we hope you can join us for another great party to celebrate the farm season!

Alright, we hope you enjoy this weeks harvest. Happy cooking everyone.

Your farmers,
A & T
